We are incredibly proud of the work our Community Action Grant recipients are doing across Victoria to raise awareness of rabbit issues, promote community led action and support best practice control methods.
VRAN would like to shine the ‘spotlight’ on a grant project undertaken by the Bellarine Landcare Group.
‘Bringing Back the Bush on the Bellarine Peninsula with Rabbits and Weeds Control’ is the story of two local landholders, Alan and David.
Both share their stories of how their love of the bush and wildlife has driven them to restore their properties by removing rabbits and weeds.
Produced by the Bellarine Landcare Group and beautifully filmed by Annette Ruzicka, you will see and hear how with a long-term vision and determination we can tackle these environmental problems and have a great outcome.
This video was an initiative of the Victorian Rabbit Action Network (VRAN) Community Action Grants and is project funded by the Australian Government Agricultural Competitiveness White Paper in collaboration with Agriculture Victoria.
There are no quick fixes when it comes to managing rabbits, but the rewards are well worth it.
