VRAN Annual Report 2021-22

3 November 2022

VRAN held its Annual General Meeting last week, 27 October 2022.

To celebrate and promote Aboriginal communities and their contribution to NRM, the meeting was held at the Koorie Heritage Trust Building in Federation Square.

VRAN Chair, Gerald Leach, opened the meeting with an Acknowledgment of Country and took the opportunity to highlight the important role that the Koorie Heritage Trust plays.

Gerald outlined VRAN’s 2021-22 achievements and acknowledged and celebrated the contribution of the VRAN Board,  Mentors and it’s Learning Network members to the environmental and natural resource management across the State. He also thanked the Friends of VRAN and the Agriculture Victoria for the ongoing support to community pest management groups.

“As Chair I’m continually surprised at how many people we connect with across community, government and industry. As a community pest management group, we have fantastic reach and by working with others, together we do lots of great things for the environment as a result.” said Mr Leach.

Mr Gerald Leach was reappointed as Chair. Reappointed Board members for 2022/23 include Lisa Adams,  Lyn Coulston, Neil Devanny, Simon McGuinness and Geoff McFarlane.

The Associate Board members for 2022/23 are Chelsea Vercoe (Agriculture Victoria), Tina Konstantinidis (Parks Victoria) and Vanessa Lucy (Department of Land, Water and Environment).
