Our Work:
VRAN'S Leadership in Rabbit Management Course (Bootcamp)
What is the Leadership in Rabbit Management Course?
The Victorian Rabbit Action Network’s Leadership in Rabbit Management Course is accessible to all Victorians currently engaged in rabbit management on private or public land.
The course, also known as the Rabbit Bootcamp, spans 3 days and combines classroom instruction with practical field-based training. After completing the intensive training, participants have the opportunity to form a ‘Learning Network’ where they can connect, exchange ideas, and discuss rabbit management strategies.
Each year, ten to twenty positions are available for the course. VRAN actively promotes diversity in the Leadership in Rabbit Management Course, encouraging individuals with various perspectives and experiences to participate.
VRAN seeks representation across gender, industry, regions, community groups, Traditional Owners, land managers, government agencies, and other professionals. Eligible participants must be over 18 years old and based in Victoria.

Who facilitates the course?
The course will be facilitated by our VRAN mentors who are recognised experts in rabbit management and community-led action.
As a group, they provide expertise and insights from community, industry and government perspectives.
They will be supported by co-facilitators with diverse experience in community engagement and invasive species management from around Australia, across a range of sectors and organisations.
What does it cost?
- Free for community, landcare and Not-For-Profit members. Course costs, including meals and accommodation, will be covered.
- A fee applies for government, industry, or private organisation participants.
What motivates VRAN to provide this training?
- The primary aim of VRAN is to see feral rabbits kept to very low numbers across the Victorian Landscape
- The way we do that is to provide the tools and networks to enable community, industry and government to implement best practice management in the control of feral rabbits.
- VRAN run training and mentoring programs, deliver workshops on best-practice rabbit management, and support groups, networks and organisations to collaborate on rabbit action.
