Meet our new rabbit leaders!

29 April 2021

Please join us in congratulating this bunch of legends for successfully completing our two-and-a-half-day intensive Leadership in Rabbit Control Course, held in Wangaratta earlier this month!

The 10 participants may have represented several different organisations across Victoria but they now all share the same technical skills and best practice knowledge to implement within their own communities.

All the participants thoroughly enjoyed the course and provided us with some fabulous feedback:

“The Rabbit Bootcamp was excellent. Really well organised and run with great knowledge sharers and practical exercises. Well done to you and the team for putting it together. I learnt heaps that I will be putting to use in my Council’s rabbit control program”.

“I liked the practical side of the workshop and the opportunity to share knowledge….”

“I liked learning from the excellent mentors…”

“The overall exposure to new techniques and the response that native vegetation can have without rabbits…”

“I liked learning from career professionals…”

“I liked the ability to network and have the time to talk to other course participants and the mentors….”

“I liked how much I have learnt about effective rabbit management and how some of this differs from what I have been told in the past…”

The group will now form a Learning Network to continue their learning with the VRAN mentors and to share their experiences with each other.

Collaborative, community led action is the only way we can achieve effective and sustainable rabbit management outcomes across Victoria and we just know this group is going to have a very positive impact!
