Commonwealth funding for local councils managing pests and weeds

The Communities Combating Pest and Weed Impacts During Drought Program – Biosecurity Management of Pests and Weeds – Round 2 funding opportunity is now open for applications on both the Community Grants Hub and GrantConnect websites.

Applications are due 5 February 2020.

The program is funded by the Australian Government through the Department of Agriculture.

It will deliver $10 million in funding to eligible local councils affected by drought, to fund projects that manage priority pest animals or weeds.

The objectives of the program are to assist communities manage the negative impacts of pest animals and weeds during drought, stimulate economic activity and facilitate local employment in the areas where projects take place.
