VRAN is currently funded by the Commonwealth, as part of the Agricultural White Paper Weeds and Rabbits Project.
The project is a partnership between the Victorian Government and the four Community Pest Management Groups – gorse, serrated tussock, blackberry, and rabbits. It is using a systems approach to examine the management of weeds and rabbits from all perspectives and then using that information to inform investments that will support community-led action on weeds and rabbits.
The project is delivering initiatives that support collaboration, capacity building and knowledge sharing.
VRAN is leading a number of these initiatives:
- Learning network
- K5 community action
- VRAN rabbit strategy
- Building rabbit knowledge
- Best practice rabbit control guide
